About the Program
The “My Mutt” program is Pet Food Express’ and Virtual Pet Adoption’s attempt to raise awareness of the most popular breed of all, the Mutt. The large, striking pictures on the walls of the Pet Food Express stores are images of dogs and cats that have been adopted from Bay Area shelters and rescue groups.

San Francisco Samoyed Rescue is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization founded in 1974 to render help to needy or displaced Samoyed dogs. The objective of this group is to rescue Samoyeds in shelters or lost in the streets, relocate Samoyeds that are no longer wanted or that can no longer be cared for by their owners, assist in securing veterinary attention for injured or sick Samoyeds, and assist owners who cannot afford veterinary care.
SFSR is not affiliated with San Francisco Samoyed Club, or any other Samoyed club. We operate independently and must generate our own donations and solicit volunteer help.
The geographic range within which SFSR works is limited to Northern California, from Monterey County north, and east to the Nevada border. In special circumstances we may make an exception to this geographic limitation and work with people from the Reno/Carson City area of Nevada, or with those in Southern Oregon. However, because of our limited resources, we cannot guarantee coverage of these areas outside Northern California.
San Francisco Samoyed Rescue is recognized by and supports National Samoyed Rescue (NSR). This means that we try our best to meet the standards of what NSR deems good rescue practices. NSR has an extensive application process, and they do their best to verify our practices, including getting a veterinary reference.
