COVID-19 Message from the SFSR Board
To our friends, foster families, and fur children,
At The San Francisco Samoyed Rescue, safety is our number one priority. We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation, and taking it very seriously. While new updates are coming in every day, we are referring to the CDC, WHO, and AVMA for the most up to date information.
Resources on COVID-19 and Pet Safety:
"There is no evidence that a dog, cat or any pet can transmit COVID-19" - WHO
"Because animals can spread other diseases to people and people can also spread diseases to animals, it’s a good idea to always wash your hands before and after interacting with animals" - AVMA
"One of the best ways you can protect yourself from getting sick is to thoroughly wash your hands after handling, caring for, feeding, or cleaning up after dogs." - CDC
At this time, we will be keeping all our available dogs in their foster homes and suspending homechecks and meet and greets until the COVID-19 situation has changed. Please continue to apply for available dogs, we will reach out to resume homechecks and meet and greets when the Shelter In Place directive has passed. Please remember to wash your hands thoroughly and often.
Remember, caring for these fluffy kiddos and finding them forever homes is expensive! If you are able, we always appreciate your donations. You can donate HERE.
