COVID-19 Message from the SFSR Board

To our friends, foster families, and fur children,

At The San Francisco Samoyed Rescue, safety is our number one priority. We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation, and taking it very seriously. While new updates are coming in every day, we are referring to the CDC, WHO, and AVMA for the most up to date information.

Resources on COVID-19 and Pet Safety:

In summary:

  • "There is no evidence that a dog, cat or any pet can transmit COVID-19" - WHO

  • "Because animals can spread other diseases to people and people can also spread diseases to animals, it’s a good idea to always wash your hands before and after interacting with animals" - AVMA

  • "One of the best ways you can protect yourself from getting sick is to thoroughly wash your hands after handling, caring for, feeding, or cleaning up after dogs." - CDC

At this time, we are conducting home checks virtually. If you are interested in fostering or adopting a dog, please submit your application. We have a waitlist for potential adopting and foster homes, and we consider all available homes to find the best fit for each dog. After you submit your application, we will reach out to schedule a time with you for a home check via video call.

Remember, caring for these fluffy kiddos and finding them forever homes is expensive! If you are able, we always appreciate your donations. You can donate HERE.

Please remember to wash your hands thoroughly and often!

Thank you!
